Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in especial - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks the player's first title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since that period of 2023.
The win also indicates the Russian has won 21 titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to perform at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and play aggressively, backed up by an better serve.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
The pair traded breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his initial tour title, gained dominance to force a decider.
He rescued four early chances in a competitive final set before the champion won the break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
